The View Menu

This article describes the new View menu and its myriad of options now available in major update to V2.0 available from ipushpull. You can configure the look and feel of the Webapp to allow easier viewing and editing of your pages.

The View menu can be accessed via the new menu bar at the top of the Webapp as shown here:

The new View menu contains the main areas to control the look and feel of the Webapp and how you can view your page as follows:

The Fit menu controls how your page is displayed in relation to the screen, only one Fit style can be selected at a time.

The same example page has been used below to show how the same page looks with the different Fit styles applied.

  • Scroll - Standard view of your page with no auto zoom applied to your page to fit the confines of the screen. This allows you to set column widths and heights as required. Scroll bars are automatically added to the view as required.

  • Width - Automatically zooms your page to fit the width of the screen.

  • Height - Automatically zooms your page to fit the height of the screen.

  • Contains - Automatically zooms your page to fit the contains of the screen to both width and height.

The Show menu allows you to control how the grid is displayed and also enables additional table controls. It is possible to enable multiple Show options to create the required look and feel for your page.

The same example page has been used below to show how the same page looks with the different Show styles applied.

  • Grid Lines - Display grid lines on all edges of a cell.

  • Row Highlight - As the mouse icon rolls over a row it will highlight the row to show your current position on the table

  • Cell Bar - Allows viewing of the cell value in a toolbar at top of screen.

The Freeze menu allows you to control how the grid can freeze the page or parts of the page as required. The allowed options are :

  • Freeze Panes - Freezes the whole page and the page can no longer be scrolled.

  • Freeze Top Row - Freezes the top row only , good if a table contains a header row for example.

  • Freeze First Column - Freezes the left most column (first column) of the page.

To remove the freeze option, just open the View menu and select ‘Unfreeze Panes’ from the options available.
